When David was a young child, I nicknamed him ‘Sunbeam’ because of his big, beautiful, infectious smile, which people still talk about now. He was kind and caring, and would help anyone. Those who knew David have only ever had good things to say about him, and I don’t say that just because I’m his Mum.
He was a hard-working, family man who worshipped his daughter Amelia and who loved cycling, golf, playing darts and supporting Plymouth Argyle. David was extremely good at hiding his struggles from us, and sadly got to the stage where he felt there was no other option than to end his life – how wrong he was!
David’s death, in 2013, shattered our world, and still impacts so many people, but we will be forever grateful for the 37 years, 41 weeks, and 2 days that his light shone on our lives.
